Product Overview
The world's first 720p HD video recording on a mobile phone was top of our list of trend-setting features revealed at this year's MWC in Barcelona. But even if you take HD from the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD you will still have enough skill and guts to go around. It's Symbian-powered, it's touch-controlled, it's a monster of a cameraphone. For all we know, a device like that is always worth another look.
So, here's the deal. We're not just taking another look at the Samsung Omnia HD, we hope it's a closer, and more revealing look. A second preview is a rare honor but then, the Samsung Omnia HD is a rare piece of technology.
The Omnia HD is getting closer to release and the new unit we have is much different than the real early bird we checked out back in February. It's been a while, so here's what Samsung have been up to with the Omnia HD.

This review is based on and hacked i8910 running custom ROM n203 with my favorite apps: joikuspot, Quickoffice, symtorrent and Nokia messaging.
PROS: I friggin love this phone. With the Custom rom i have a faster phone with double the available stock RAM. It runs nokia messaging now so i get true push email for all my email accounts. The symbian web browser is great for me because it has flash, I can use my phone as a mobile hot spot. I have an awesome screen with great colors. The video camera is now also awesome with a stable 24 fps. The picture quality has improved a little as well. I also can view or create word, excel, and PP which is also awesome.
Hacking this phone and flashing the ROM make a huge improvement upon the phones capabilities and performance. It is great for my business needs now and the video recorder and camera with TV-out and DLNA and an awesome screen make this phone great for pleasure. The speakers also work very well in my opinion.
I also recommend getting google maps because i haven't figured out how to get free voice nav with ovi maps yet.
CON: I only have one CON. There are not alot of games that take advantage of the 3D capabilities of this phone.

This is a review based on the stock firmware, hacked with OVI store and a few cool apps installed.
Pros: Video Quality, Camera options up the ying yang. I like the Symbian OS because I use symtorrent and Joikuspot alot and I had an N95 before this so it is familiar. watching videos is awesome. Great loud speakers, and excellent capacitive sensitivity. great support from OVI store and Nokia :^ Love the browser. form factor and stylish. 8GB onboard memory.Battery life is pretty good considering how much internet i use.
Cons: Video Quantity low frame rate makes the video look choppy, Pictures aren't as sharp and clear indoors as i thought they would be. not much free RAM. Setting up email is a pain and not true PUSH. media photo viewer loads the pics bit slow
BUT most issues can be solved by flashing to a custom ROM, Hacking the phone, and installing OVI Store.
Overall impression: The biggest downfall of this phone is the stock ROM. Without a flashed ROM to fix the camera/video issues and Free RAM the phone still gets a 4/5. once i flash n203 on there it will most definitely get a 5/5.

I would suggest finding an extended battery (3100mAh) just to add the amazing battery this phone already has. With heavy use over 12 hours i usually only bring the battery down to 80% in a day(w/ extended battery). Otherwise the phone is very quick, responsive, tons of applications and lots of forums supporting firmware and apps. Very good user base. I upgraded from a Nokia N95 8GB. Before that, i used a first gen Iphone. Iphone internet browsing is more pleasing, but really the rest of this phone blows away anything else on the market. Your friends will be in complete aww at the slow mo/high speed filming or the flat out perfect pictures and HD video you can capture. One thing to watch out for is the 3G capability. Not all cities use the 850 band, most ATT areas use 1900, which is slower...but more common. Even on Edge this browser is pretty quick. I use this phone for business without any problems. Plenty of play and work can be done with this phone. By far the quickest opening of Excel spreadsheets ive ever seen on a phone. Blazing fast performance, amazing memory (never seen a crash or ran out of RAM). Screen is very bright (not so much in direct sunlight) and very very sharp. DVD rip movies will look stunning. I absolutely recommend this phone to anyone who is used to Symbian.

Great phone! 3G works fine on AT&T 1900 here in the US... You just need to google all the settings for the accesspoints and you are ready to go. The screen and the camera are just fabulous - the best I have seen on any mobile so far! Battery life is also quite acceptable with ~1 day when used heavily. The reason why I am not giving 5 stars is because Internet calling is not included in S60/5th anymore Need to use something like Fring and not all S60/5th applications work on the phone. Still, this is deffinitely a recommended buy - best phone available right now!

The Samsung I8910 is one of the most feature packed Symbian S60 5th edition phones available. The phone has the worlds largest 3.7 inch AMOLED display that is quite impressive. The display is crisp and clear, and with a resolution of 640x360 that provides ample pixels to make viewing text easy. Stereo speakers provide ample volume, but can distort at max volume. Connectivity options in the US are EDGE and 3G if used with AT&T, or EDGE if used with T-Mobile. The I8910 also features 802.11G WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 to round out your wireless connectivity options. Wired connectivity is handled by a standard micro USB connector.
The particular phone I received appears to be a Polish phone, however the language was still english. The firmware version is I8910XXIF8.
The phone will come with a pair of headphones, a wall charger with US prong adapter, a Micro USB cable, and assorted manuals and leaflets. The manual for this phone was again in Polish, so you may want to go to the Samsung site and download the English verison.
As for Mobile City Online MCO, the pricing is the best you can find. The order processing does take a little long, but MCO takes extra time to verify your phone will work and also include that very necessary AC prong adapter for free.
The only thing I would recommend with this phone is additional memory in the form of a MicroSDHC card. The internal memory is quickly used up by loading maps for the Samsung Route66 Navigation software. Also, recording 720P video also eats up storage very quickly, so a big MicroSDHC card with a speed class of 4 or higher is recommended.
Overall I am happy with my purchase, both the phone and MCO.

The best phone I ever used and I use a lot of phones. This thing feels great in the hand and looks slick. Takes good photos and video may not be as good as SLR or HD camcorder, but for a cellphone, it is the best. You can sync you contact, calendar wireless with vuphone. A must for any high end phone user. If you are not a high end user, then, buy something cheap.

I tried this phone for 5 minutes. But it was the best 5 minutes I have ever spent with a phone. The screen is awesome, vibrant and bright, the colors really pop out. The phone itself is on the big side but a little less wide then the iphone, so it's easy to use one hand. I recommend this phone for people who want the best there is in a mobile device to this date. The only problem that I must tell you is when you record in HD 720p the sound gets really messy. But all around this phone is awesome and is definitly worth the money if you have it. When is it coming as an import?? Can't wait to get one..
